Sizzix Big Shot Review

Sizzix Big Shot is manufactured by Ellison that’s renowned for introducing unrivaled die-cutting machines. This California-based company has launched unparalleled manual and automatic die cutters, embossing folders, and steel-rule die, etc. The majority of scrapbookers, cardmakers, quilters, and hobbyists use Ellison’s products due to durability and smooth functioning.

This embosser comes with a longer surface area to lay down the folders and dies with ease. The stable base and durability make it unparalleled. The manufacturer offers a 3-year warranty for the product. It supports the big and wide dies.

Material Supported by Sizzix

This die-cutter can handle cardstock, foam, fabric, felt, leather, vellum, and chipboard and craft aluminum easily. It can also handle metallic foil and magnet.

The Sizzix works with Spellbinders, Anna Griffin, Cuttlebug and QuicKut dies, etc. But the length of these folders should not exceed 6 inches for smooth work.

Sizzix Big Shot Features

The machine is made of solid steel rollers. That’s why; the manufacturer offers a 3-year warranty for it. Even the gears are made of solid steel to cut the tough material easily.

The design is compact. Although it’s not foldable like Cricut Cuttlebug still it occupies less space.

It’s an automatic die-cutting and embossing machine. You don’t need to control the cutting process manually.

It has a wide and solid platform with hinged tables. The platform has been particularly designed to make it compatible with Big Shot Express, Big Shot, BigKick, and Vagabond dies. The platform is made of mylar, POM plastic, PP plastic, and steel.

A detailed user manual comes with the product. You can use it with wafer-thin dies and every type of pads. Moreover, it comes with useful illustrations to show you how to use dies and folders.

The manufacturer offers email-based customer support and a toll-free number for users. However, it becomes hectic for users to get the response to emails within the next few days. It’s too late for a response to an important query.

The machine doesn’t come with mobile support that’s a big drawback. The majority of users like Cricut Cuttlebug for the reason it supports the mobile app. They can operate the cutting process by using the iPhone or an Android device. However, Sizzix doesn’t support mobile apps. Only Eclipse 2 supports an unbeatable program “eCAL.” The users of Sizzix will be disappointed to know that they can’t use it for cutting by using their mobile phones.
